The Frederick Douglass - Isaac Myers Maritime Park

This new park features a re-creation of the first marine shipyard and marine railway operated by African Americans, as well as a fabulous restoration of the Sugar House, the oldest remaining industrial building on the waterfront. The new Weinberg Education Center completes the Maritime Park, honoring Frederick Douglass, who lived in Baltimore and worked in the maritime trades and Isaac Myers, who founded the shipyard and the first black maritime unions. 410-685-0295.
